Plate with salmon and asparagus with the title Colour Your Palate, April 15, 2014The popular Colour Your Palate is back! This event, taking place in beautiful Victoria, BC, was such a smash in 2013 that it has come back and is sure to be even better. Have you ever caught an episode of Iron Chef on TV where talented hopefuls are pitted against seasoned veterans in a cook-off? One of the reasons the show is so captivating is that there is always a twist – a secret unveiled secret ingredient that only intensifies the competition.

Color Your Palate is an event that benefits the artsREACH program, which aims to provide visual and performing arts training to children in Victoria, BC. During this event, local chefs will go head to head to create a color-inspired canapé. One month before, the chefs will draw the secret color to have time to design and create their signature presentations. This year the professional judges include: Eric Akis, Gary Hines and Denise Marchessault. They will have the task of awarding the “Best Tasting Creation” and the “Most Colorful Creation,” a job that will certainly be very difficult.

One of the best reasons for joining this event is that guests will be able to sample each chef’s creation, will receive a complimentary glass of wine to bring along to each table and will get to put in a vote for the “People’s Choice” award. There will also be a silent auction during which you could win a fabulous door prize. Tickets sold out quickly in 2013, so we encourage you to hop on this one fast!
