Hometown Tourist Weekend in Ladysmith, BC

Have you ever played tourist in your hometown? Ladysmith, BC is a wonderful town just over half an hour away from The Prancing Horse Retreat—known for its history, arts, welcoming people and of course the it’s beauty as it is surrounded by breathtaking waterfront. Not only it is a scenic drive to get there but there are also a myriad of places to see and things to do in this quaint town on the east coast of Vancouver Island.

Mark your calendars for June 14-15, 2014 for the Be a Hometown Tourist Weekend. This is a time for locals and visitors to get out and enjoy all the fantastic shops, services and special attractions in Ladysmith, BC. Here are just a few of the special things you can take part in while you play tourist:

Cottonwood Golf Course – open 7am – Dark, they will be offering 2 for 1 golf. Call 250-245-5157 to book your tee time.

Hazelwood Herb Farm – At 2pm they will be offering free farm tours.

Ladysmith Museum – Hours are extended from 10am – 4pm with free tours being offered. They are also hosting an old fashioned flea market on Saturday, June 14th.

49th Café – from 7:30am – 6pm they will be offering 2 for 1 specialty coffee drinks and smoothies.

Cedar Farmers Market – open Sunday from 8am – 2pm—enjoy fresh fruits and vegetables, local products, organic fare, and entertainment.

Frank Jameson Community Centre – from 8am – 6pm they will be offering 2 for 1 passes for the fitness center.

Sealegs Kayaking Adventure – from 9:30am – 6pm, will be offering a special where a 1-hour kayak rental gets you a second 1-hr single kayak rental for free.

Ladysmith Maritime Society – at 10am & 2pm Ladysmith will be hosting Harbour Boat Tours.
