It is just over a month from now when we will be able to welcome the first day of spring; March 20, 2015 to be exact. We have had a wonderful winter so far here on Vancouver Island as the weather is fair and enjoyable and there are so many great events to take in and things to do and see.
About an hour away from Prancing Horse Retreat (a very scenic drive of course) you will come across Deerholme Farm, a fantastic place in Duncan, BC. Deerholme Farm is home to Bill Jones, a renowned chef, wild mushroom expert, and author of nine wonderful and very popular cookbooks. Jones offers a myriad of cooking classes, forages, and dinner events throughout the year. Coming up at the end of February and throughout the month of March, there are some great workshops, dinners, and classes to take part in. For guests at our bed and breakfast, these are great outings during your time on the Island.
