History buffs – and anyone prepared to be inspired by a “cool” story – will want to check out the Expedition: Arctic exhibit on display at the Nanaimo Museum here on Vancouver Island.

Expedition Arctic promo Aug 15-Nov 2, 2013This traveling exhibit is on loan from the Canadian Museum of Civilization and will be with us from August 15, 2013 through November 2, 2013.  This exhibit documents the Canadian Arctic Expedition that took place between 1913-1918, one of the last great exploratory expeditions before the age of modern communication, technology and transportation.

Never before seen artifacts, photographs, and maps help to tell the story of the challenges and adversity endured by the guides, scientists, sailors, and hunters trekking across Canada’s wilderness.

Become a member of the expedition through interactive exhibits – perfect for school children and adults.
