The Butchart Gardens began over a century ago and have since become known worldwide as one of the premier floral show gardens. Jennie Butchart transformed an abandoned quarry into a spectacular area of true beauty. Host to an extraordinary collection of plants, each season in the gardens offers a rainbow of beauty and an array of scents that leave visitors excited for their next visit.
A Taste of Spring is one of the special offers that the Butchart Gardens provides to visitors and locals looking for a special outing. Now through March 16, 2014, experience a tour of the garden along with an elegant high tea served in the dining room restaurant.
The spring in Victoria is legendary and you can get a sneak peak right now at their incredible indoor gardens. Flowers and koi-filled ponds will get you ready for what lies in store in just a few months. A history display detailing the story of the Gardens is also available for viewing.
Once you have taken in the sights and smells of the colorful gardens, the high tea will allow you to relax in an elegant atmosphere as you indulge in some of the Gardens signature delicacies. Candied ginger scone, Cornish pasty, caramelized leek and aged cheddar quiche, locally smoked wild B.C. salmon pinwheel and bergamot infused chocolate mousse are just a few of the dishes you can choose from.
