The community here absolutely knows how to put on a great celebration and the Cowichan Lake Days do not disappoint. This year marks the 70th anniversary of this great festival and once we share the lowdown on all that will be going on, you will have your calendar marked off before you are even done looking at the list! Here is a taste of what will be happening June 1-8, 2014:

Soap Box Derby with a new “open class” for anyone ten years old and up.

Road Hockey Tournament—a popular main attraction every year.

Build Bail and Sail Competition—make a two-person boat in two hours with cardboard, duct tape and odds and ends that will race around a designated course.

Wine & Cheese Tasting—to raise funds for the Kaatza Museum, DEOL winery will be providing wonderful local wine paired with Canadian and International cheeses.

Lake Days Dance—this cosmic video dance party will be held at the Cowichan Lake Sports Arena.

Mainstage Events—this year will feature Terry Brennan, Mazimba Marimba, Jan Matthews in Overdrive, plus lots of other great exhibitions.

Lake Days Parade—one of the favorite events that brings everyone together.
