The Perfect April Getaway

The new Prancing Horse Retreat is the perfect overnight stop for a little known
two-day driving tour originating from Victoria. Vancouver or Seattle.

Victoria, B.C. - Situated on the northern outskirts of Victoria, perched high above Finlayson Arm, the new Prancing Horse Retreat is the ideal stop over point for those looking for a short and refreshing April getaway.

Traveling to Vancouver Island by ferry from Vancouver, the first natural stop is
Butchart Gardens on the north end of Saanich Peninsula.

April brings out the best in world-renowned Butchart Gardens. No other time of year brings as much colour and beauty to this Victorian landmark. Tulips,
daffodils, cherry blossoms and many others bloom into full colour as Victoria
leads the rest of the Canada into spring.

The City of Victoria is full of attractions but if relaxation is your goal - head up to your accommodation at the Prancing Horse Retreat. Here you can experience one of the best views on Vancouver Island. Each of the 5 guestrooms overlooks Finlayson Ann and the majestic Olympic Mountain Range.

The retreat's architecture resembles a gothic castle from by-gone romantic eras. The interior is appointed with Victorian furnishings and hard wood floors.

Guests can go outside and view from their own patio or from the retreat's

Various restaurants are available in the area, but none as special as Aerie Luxury Resort's dining room adjacent to the retreat, (ho Aerie's luxury spa is also available to Prancing Horse guests.

In the morning, breakfast varies from Belgium waffles with real maple syrup to
French toast soufflé to quiche. Seasonal fruit, croi slants or muffins and freshly squeezed orange juice and champagne are always provided.

The leisurely return trip to the mainland should include the scenic Mill Bay ferry route. The ferry ride itself views unspoiled marine coastline. Those interested in marine life may want to stop at the Marine Ecology Station in Cowichan Bay before the crossing.

The relaxed pace will have you back on the 3:00 pm ferry heading back to
Vancouver.
